Michael Oldfield BSc Hons

Michael became involved in Osteopathy 17 years ago after suffering from a work related strain in his neck and shoulder muscles. It was through this experience that he began to appreciate how effective Osteopathy is to a persons physical health and well being. Michael decided to become an Osteopath and qualified, with Honours from the London School of Osteopathy in 2006. He established Deeping Osteopaths in 2006 initially based at Deeping Community centre and relocated to larger premises in 2013 due to the increasing demand.

Michael is also qualified in Western Medical Acupuncture and myofascial taping.

Mel Bell

Mel initially graduated in osteopathy and naturopathy from British College of Naturopathy and Osteopathy (BCNO) [now British College of Osteopathic Medicine (BCOM)] in 1985 and worked as an associate practitioner at the same time as running her own private practice; including an 18 month spell as clinical lead at Tyringham Naturopathic Clinic.

Following a career break to be at home with her small children, Mel undertook further study in 2007 and 2008, including two terms in the college clinic with the final year clinical students, effectively re-graduating from BCOM in 2008. Post-graduate study has included a course in Western Medical Acupuncture (Dry Needling); various seminars on shoulder pathology; and an introductory course in animal osteopathy.

Having passed all the taught modules, Mel is now at the dissertation phase of an MSc in Animal Osteopathy, a long-held ambition delayed only by the lack, until recently, of a suitably in-depth academic course.  This MSc is the only course in the musculoskeletal treatment of animals which includes neurology , (along with pathology and orthopaedics), as well as encompassing a wide breadth of osteopathic thinking and ideas.  Mel now runs a small animal clinic where patients can be assessed and treated at home or within Corby Veterinary Centre.

Fiona Swallow

A local girl, Fiona attended Stamford High School, leaving in 2012, and went directly to Oxford Brookes University to do their four-year Bachelor of Osteopathy course, graduating with an Upper Second Class Honours degree.

Since graduating Fiona has gained valuable experience working in a number of osteopathic practices.

Fiona is passionate about Osteopathy. When she’s not treating patients, Fiona is a bit of an adrenaline junkie with a particular passion for skiing – when she’s not hiking, rock climbing and canoeing! Closer to home she can be found running or in the gym.
